Galin, President
Producer Mitchell Galin is a veteran
filmmaker who has developed and/or overseen
the production of ten features, over thirty
television productions, four documentaries
and two theatre productions. In 2007 after
spending two decades building two
entertainment companies, Galin formed the
Nashville-based film company, Epiphany
Productions LLC.
Mr. Galin is best known for a number of
projects he produced in partnership with
Stephen King, including Pet Sematary
and The Stand, as well as his
work in the adaptation of works by John
Cheever, Dominick Dunne, Frank Herbert and
others. His work has garnered six Emmy's and
the prestigious Christopher Award.
Oscar-winning actors and actresses Galin has
worked with include Katharine Hepburn, James
Cagney, Peter O'Toole, Jodie Foster, James
Earl Jones, William Hurt, Kathy Bates,
George Scott, Maggie Smith, George Kennedy
and William Hickey.
In addition to presiding over Epiphany
Production projects, Galin has served on the
Board of Directors of variety of companies
involved in film, theatre and music
Entertainment. These include the prestigious
Atlantic Theatre Company started by David
Mamet and William H. Macy; New Dramatist,
the most renown dramaturgical organization
in the country; Film Nashville; Independent
Feature Project; and Kid Pan Alley, a
non-profit curriculum-based music enrichment
program that teaches grade school children
creative writing through a new and
innovative songwriting method.
Galin is a frequent guest lecturer at
Columbia University, NYU, New School of
Social Research, Vanderbilt and Belmont, and
is an adjunct professor at Watkins College
of Art and Design. He often
appears
as a guest
panelist at prominent professional seminars
such as Sundance and IFP Market. Galin is a
member of the Writers Guild of America,
Producers Guild and the Academy of
Television Arts and Sciences. His writing
and editorial work has been published both
in the United States and England.

David
Kiern, Executive Vice President
In his 14 years as a filmmaker, Kiern has
directed dozens of short narratives, six
music videos, and five documentaries. His
work has aired on network and cable
television. Five of his films have premiered
at film festivals.
His short “Belleau Wood” won him an award
from the National Foundation for the
Advancement of the Arts. The following year,
he was awarded $10,000 by Tommy Hilfiger for
directing a short film about his
grandfather’s love of America.
His first foray into documentaries, ‘Journey
to Fame’ followed Sony recording artist
Ashley Monroe’s attempts at landing a record
deal.
His short documentary “Behind the Scenes
with the Apostles of Comedy,” offers an
intimate glimpse of four Christian
comedians, and how their faith effects their
lives. The film is featured on the “Apostles
of Comedy” DVD, released by First Look
Studios.
In January 2008, he completed a long-form
commercial for the Olympic Parade “Light the
World,” featuring Amy Grant and TobyMac.
Later that year, he directed a comedic short
for Universal Records starring Lee Ann
Womack.
In 2009, Kiern produced “Strike of ’68: The
Final Work of Martin Luther King” with
documentary filmmaker Jane Folk. The film
tells the story of the Memphis Sanitation
Strike of 1968, which was the last civil
rights cause Martin Luther King fought for.
The premiere was held in in Memphis, TN.
Recently, Kiern completed work on the
musical, “The Question,” produced by Steven
V. Taylor, Don Boyer, and Matt McPherson for
Autumn Records. The musical features over a
dozen filmed sequences that are incorporated
into the staged production, which Kiern
directed. Performances will begin in 2010.
Kiern is also an accomplished editor and
cameraman. Some of these credits include;
ABC Family’s “Dear Santa”; Bono’s ONE
Campaign; Sean Hannity’s Freedom Concerts;
MTV TV pilot, featuring Young Buck; NFL
Halftime Show, featuring the United States
Marines; and a comedy special for James
Gregory. He has performed filmmaking
services for Big Idea/VeggieTales, EMI
Music, Integrity Film, Gaylord, and Lifeway.
Kiern has worked on concert films for Jars
of Clay, Third Day, Rebecca St. James,
Newsong, and Michael W. Smith.
In 2009, Kiern and long-time partner
Mitchell Galin founded Epiphany Documentary
Films. EDF is focused on exploring adventure
stories that revolve around social,
political and environmental issues in which
personal faith plays a integral role. Their
first release under this banner was “Journey
to Everest,” which will have its television
premiere in the first quarter of 2010. To
date, “Journey to Everest” has raised over
$60K for worldwide ministries.
Epiphany Documentary Films is currently in
post-production, and has an active slate of
projects in development, including two new
adventure/faith documentaries.
David lives with his beautiful wife Natalie,
in Spring Hill, Tennessee.
